A buddy of mine was riding with 7 other guys in one of those in Iraq... Truck hit a mine/IED and blew the heck up... Flipped over backwards and landed on it's roof. Whole truck was destroyed. The driver had a black eye because of something that was not strapped down on the dash...

I've been flying R/C aircraft for about 3 years. Started with helicopters (yes, backwards, should start with fixed wing) but recently I've become interested in airplanes. I'm starting with cheap foam models as I expect I will destroy a few...
I have no specific plans this spring.. April works as good as any other time.. My Suburban is having a tcase issue... but I could probably have it resolved by then. Heck that's a long way off.. I might even have a deuce or something by then..

Yeah that's the site I was trying to remember earlier!! I like his approach.. using a Tamiya semi with a TLT front axle... now you could use a Hi-lift trans/transfer case but if I remember correctly that guy custom built his own transfer case. So there's your running gear.. all off the shelf...

Search dma's posts (his hemtt threads) there is a shot of the block ramps they built to load/unload his hemtt. Looked fairly safe and straight forward.
