ok thanks! theres no pieces or parts that could fall off during the process right? Im under the impression that these IP's are very complicated little things. i dont wanna crack off the top of these things and springs go shooting everywhere!
I'm replacing the IP on my 86 M1008. I managed to get my hands on a new Humvee IP. Will it work? The only difference I can see is the wire connections on top are slightly different. There's two, just like the old pump, but one is in a different place.
So checking the volume of fuel that comes out of the filter when the engine is turned over would determine if there is a lift pump problem, right? And is the lift pump in the tank?
So the other day, my 84 M1008, with 40,000 miles on it started losing power. It progressed until the accelerator pedal had to be pushed to the floor for it to even move. It also had a low, rough idle. Then it wouldnt even crank. I replaced the fuel filter and cleaned the glass ball check...
I put a Mile Marker 10,500lb hydro winch on my 1008. Its a HMMWV takeoff and can be operated underwater as well.
Its also wired for the 24volt systems. Hydro is slow, but boy is it strong!
My first vehicle was a M1008 with 9 inches of lift and 44's. We did a 350 swap in it too. It had about 400 hp. Great high school truck. Kept the engine sold the truck and bought a '79 trans am.
Thanks for the info guys, i downloaded the wiring and plumbing diagrams off the MM website for military applications. The Hummer fittings and hoses fit on my dodge dakota just fine, so Im hoping they'll fit on the cucv too. The winch was a hoss when I had it on the other truck. It would drag...
Another question for ya Hogtruck, you have the same winch that I do. Are the solenoids 24v of 12v? Where did you tie into to get your power source? When I had the winch on my dakota, i would sometimes have trouble with the winch solenoids not operating. I assumed the stock power steering...
Thanks for the great pics hogtruck, the winch I have came with the humvee mounting kit, so
it has the mounting plate and hoses to hook up to those trucks. The hose fittings should be suitable for the CUCV system, right?
