    Theres lots of them out there you just have to choose. Once in a while you will come across some NOS that is already OD if thats what your looking for otherwise you just have to paint it or whatever. There are a lot of 24v varieties out there too so you you can nix the resister.

    I have not put it in the air to see how the fronts spin, free/dragging etc. but that sounds like an excellent idea. Skinny - the status while Im seeing this problem is t-case in 4h and hubs unlocked. (if that makes a difference in what you are saying)
