ok, so i couldnt find anything out of the ordinary behind the panel. it is all clean, orderly and in good shape. started messing with the start switch, suddenly got voltage and freq on the next start up.
next 3 times nothing.
GRRRR
Thru some trial and error, mainly error, I figured out I...
I have a MEP-004A gen set. Pulled it in the shed last nite to warm it up and get it started.
Everything fired up and it was showing correct voltage and frequency at that time. Pulled the set 20 miles home and it was not showing anything on the voltage or frequency gauges. Pulled out the volt...
I have screwed on the solenoid turned all the way in as it should be in normal operation.
i agree it sounds like a relay getting tripped because it is hot or a breaker being tripped. I was under the impression that these trucks had no breakers on them, just the box on the firewall behind the...
working on getting a 923 with a 250 cummins to run and stay running. Got it home from Ft Riley last week. Put new batteries in it and primed it, took off drove off the trailer parked it. Fired it up Tuesday morning and pulled it in the shop, fixed a few things aired the tires up thought it was...
3500 mile truck out of Nellis with a/c. Mounted some NEW 395/85R20 on the rear and NEW 11.00R20's up front. Had to mod the 1/2 fenders and the mud flaps. Pulled the rear cab insulation due to rodent damage, replaced it with a dozen cans of spandy foam and hardy cement siding to cover up the rear...
no plans, this truck is a back up rig for my regular semi and I can use it on my drop deck hauling hay and tending my air seeder. This a local hauler for me.
there are pix on here of my truck with the end dump that I run with it. I put a splitter on the wet kit that runs the winch and added a 50 gal hyd tank to make a single line wet kit. 1st picture is of the GN ball I mounted between the frame rails. Pulled the 20' GN loaded with momma cows like a...
i have pulled out my bench seat, modified the battery box and mounted it as a single seat unit with an old Granmar seat I had sitting around. Batteries are still in there, just 2 under the passenger seat.
Gonna mount the same A/C head between the seats. I have about 15 of these units left with...
both fender mounts are different. one is mounted on top of the spring shackles and pivots with the tires, it dances around a lot and I dont know if the mount we made is heavy enough to stand the test of time. The other one is welded to the frame and is rigid. The rigid one is gonna get a 4"...

Well the end dump project is 99% done. We had lift off today, only problem, 30 gallons of oil aint enough. The pictures show how high we got before it ran low of oil. 1st stage was complete, 2nd was trying to lift. Need to round up another 20 gallons and all will be right with the world...
GL Claim on a truck
That is where you guys and I differ. I see that GL cost me between $1500-2000 on that truck because it would have sold for more with an A/C system. I buy and sell iron for a sideline business. I buy and sell locally as well as with multiple national and regional online...
took it in the arse from GL!!!!
brought the truck home used it for 3 loads and sold it for $3000 profit. bought another Nellis 915 with fresh rebuild and a/c in it for alittle more money. came out ok, still rankles my feathers, but I have made enough money selling surplus stuff, it is water...
I have a 931A1 that I was planning on getting a title for. The VIN number plate that is normally on the right hand side dash of the cab is missing. There has to be a redundancy VIN somewhere on the truck. Any ideas where? If not how does a person get this SF97's filed without it?
thanks
