    Update: The generator is repaired. I had my new friend come to and meg the generator and armature. Even though it internally arced internally, it tested very well. So look for the problem. 1. The problem was the voltage regulator which provided the tickler voltage to the exciter windings...

    That is exactly what I will do. My friend’s friend who maintains and works on BIG generators here on the gulf coast will come by and test it for me. I just need to open it up and make it easily accessible. Thank You!

    Yeah, I’m just getting out of disgusted mode and ready tonget back on it. I can access the end of the armature without taking the genset out of the frame. I will advise how it goes. It will probably be next week.

    Our Crisis Response Unit was gifted the genset that does not work. I cranked it up on 208v and it shut dow over voltage. I switched it to 416v and it ran for about a minute and began arcing on the armature. I shut it down immediately. 96 hours on the engine. I am pretty sure I was not...
