    Detroit Locker Question

Thanks for the feedback! I have air steering and have not yet experienced any of the thumb-breaking issues others have had (including when I turned off air steering after developing an air leak once) but I am thinking that, if the sprag engages and locks the front, it could be a much bigger...

    Detroit Locker Question

My apologies and thanks. According to the Boyce website, these are 16 spline axle surplus, but more info than that is not available.

    Detroit Locker Question

The lockers are on their way to me as we speak, this is it On another note, does anyone know if the wheels and axles spinning will make it back to the drive shaft through a locker? IE if I stick a locker in the front axle on a sprag T-case, would the T-case be spinning the drive shaft, or...

    Detroit Locker Question

Cool. I guess that means just stick the lockers in the front and don't worry about lockouts, as the lockers should not drastically effect handling when the t-case is not powering the axle.

    Detroit Locker Question

Hi all, I recently picked up a pair of detroit lockers at a great price ($320/each after shipping) with the military seal kit for my M109A3. These were I guess surplus- perhaps from the marine deuces setup with them? In any event, I am considering which axles to stick em on and where to put...

Anyone heard of Goodyear Super Hi-miler Tires?

By the feedback, I think I will be passing on these. For future reference, what part of the tire suggests its a trailer tire? The reason I ask is because the guy might also have a complete set of G286 tires he could sell at the same price, but I am thinking that if they were from the same lot...

Anyone heard of Goodyear Super Hi-miler Tires?

Anyone heard of Goodyear Super Hi-miler Tires?

Hi everyone, I am working on getting new tires for my M109A3. Right now, it is sitting on 9.00x20 stock NDTs. I am trying to get some taller tires on to get top speed up a little. I found some Goodyear Super Hi-Miler 11.00x20 tires for about $75 ea shipped (with 10 lug wheel that will be set...

    My M109A3 Camper Build Thread

So I have been looking for some bigger tires and wheels for the project. Noticed a bunch up on GovLiquidation in Herlong, CA that I may be able to get a friend living nearby to pick up for me. Here is a link: http://www.govliquidation.com/auction/view?auctionId=9035158&convertTo=USD My only...

    My M109A3 Camper Build Thread

I think that's exactly the point. Rolling on a flat desert highway with few other vehicles, the deuce feels like it can do 65-70 mph (if it had the gearing to do so). If a javalina pops out of nowhere, well, its a deuce. Won't even dent the bumper. On the other hand, around town I don't get...

    My M109A3 Camper Build Thread

Haha too true. Only reason I was thinking to use kevlar is because I have a roll of literally 2000 lb of the stuff sitting in my garage. Don't ask where from

    My M109A3 Camper Build Thread

Quick update: Been out of the state for a month (just got back), but I have been acquiring lots of parts and having em sent home. Recent acquisitions include: Intercooler from a 6.0 35 gallon fuel tank from an old Chevy- should make a good secondary tank for holding WMO for where legal to burn...
