I kinda figured thats what it was which leads to the question can you remove the air cylinder without removing the case
from the truck? The reason I ask is there is a cross member located in front of the cylinder that would limit the removal.
I got a problem with an air shift transfercase.
when i flip the switch to engage the front shaft
i get air coming out vent on top of the transfercase
and it does not engage.
any ideas?

alright thanks derby for pointing out the obvious(i should have addressed that first)
the flasher unit (one on the firewall one on the inner fender)fixed the problem.

i was only getting 8 volts to the exciter circuit on the alternator i traced it back to a corroded wire coming through the firewall which led to the power flip switch.
the schematic is a little hard to read but it is a good start.
