Yahoo!!! Great news! Can you share any details of the SNAFU, or are you bound to keep things to yourself? Either way, the fact remains that this is a great outcome. Glad to hear it!
BTW, the heater core I got from Advance Auto Parts was at least made in Mexico rather than China. My stock...
Well I'll be... Just found my receipt, and the seal was $13.99 after all. I could have sworn it was much less. I must have been thinking of another part.
Anyway, O'Reilly PN for the balancer is PB1102N (PPI line), and it was $62.99. Seal was PN 3945 (NAT line).
Good luck!
You know, I don't know why those are all coming up at $12 now. Mine (O'Reilly's) was around $3, maybe even less. Wish I had my receipt handy! Ask at the counter, as they will be able to look it up. Just tell them it's for an '85 Blazer diesel.
Hey CJ -- I am traveling at the moment, so no access to my receipt for a part #, but I went with the OReilly Auto Parts balancer, which is made in Australia. It appears to be a very nice part and was only about $60. I just told them I needed a balancer for an '85 Blazer with the 6.2 and it was...
This is a very fair point. I'll offer only this: any mods I do I try to make as reversible as possible, and any parts installed I try to keep military. I do this for purely selfish reasons. For one, I like the military feel, and second, someday, if need-be, I can sell it for significantly...
Cool info on the Mogs -- I love those trucks! We vacation in Bavaria frequently, and those buggers are a VERY common sight in winter on the mountain trails. Throw some chains on 'em, and they're unstoppable.
Re: the red and green colored discs, are the filters used in the old style USGI...
Precisely what I was thinking. It should be easy enough to check for power at the harness where the lights plug in, and trace from there. Good luck, OP!
I lost a wheel weight on our Saab shortly after a balance job... it's certainly possible! Hope it's that simple for you... u-joints are also a good idea to check, and also search "death wobble." Good luck, and keep us posted!
Hey gents -- I have a buddy in Wakarusa, KS who has a bunch of CUCV and assorted other parts to send my way (antenna, radio shelf, NATO slave cable, etc... -- a fair bit of "stuff"), and I was hoping someone might be heading through eastbound on I-70 and be willing to tote it as far as I-70 and...
I checked my flywheel first -- no cracks there. I disconnected all drive belts, and that wasn't it, and I replaced the harmonic dampener (it needed it anyway) too. The squeak is still there. I really think that in my case it's the exhaust.
My truck is running great -- starting easily on...
This thread got entertaining real fast! Seriously, though, OP -- you need to let us know where the other end of that hose goes. It's all just guessing until you do that.
