Thanks for the responses, I'm going to evacuate the system and have it done again to see if the temp improves.

    Red Dot AC - Troubleshooting

@kcobean - I purchased my Red Dot system on GovLiquidations site and they are also for sale on eBay. They can run $1000 and up for a complete set. It takes quite a bit of time to install... @M35A2-AZ - what temperature comes out of your vents? The coldest I'm getting is around 60 degrees...

    Red Dot AC - Troubleshooting

Red Dot Corp. did respond back to my email inquiry about the compressor. The compressor does have the appropriate amount of oil already in the compressor so there is no need to add any additional oil for a new system, just freon. I did a test and when the condenser fans are wired to run 100%...

    hmmwv cv shaft

Ebay is the best place I've seen. I've purchased two rear half shafts for my 88 for around $130 each.

    Red Dot AC - Troubleshooting

The instructions and packing list are listed on this thread - https://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?157446-HMMWV-Red-Dot-A-C-Install-Instructions My mechanic said freon level is good and compressor is running full time. He said the condenser fans should run all the time - not cycle on...

    Red Dot AC - Troubleshooting

I've installed the Red Dot AC kit (RD-2-4233-OP) in my m998 recently and the air coming out of the vents is not as cold as I would expect. 4 lbs of freon was loaded after using the vacuum pump and ensuring no leaks as evident by watching the ac manifold gauge set. The coldest the AC I've...

    X door mirrors

I have not seen a hmmwv with a rear-view mirror. I'm looking for a good aftermarket I can install. The passenger mirror is not very helpful no matter what the position is.

    X door mirrors

I have my passenger mirror pushed forward (closer to the front bumper) than the drivers mirror to view it from the drivers seat. Do you have a rear-view mirror with yours?

    makes grinding and popping sound

Thanks for the feedback. The NSN for the rear half-shafts is 2520-01-383-2387 per TM 9-2320-280-24P-1 for anyone needing it. I found one on eBay for $150. Thanks!

    makes grinding and popping sound

Fellow Steel Soldier Members: I need some guidance on how to track down this popping noise that occurs at speeds < 10 mph turning and going straight. When I let off the accelerator I can't hear the popping noise at < 10 mph, however with the slightest pressure on the gas pedal I hear this...

    M998 HMMWV - V Belt part numbers?

Hey WarHorse, Interesting you mentioned 2 & 2 configuration. The old belts were 3 & 1 so I assumed that was the correct configuration. I've attached a pic of my current configuration. Does your generator pully have 3 slots for belts? Thanks.

    M998 HMMWV - V Belt part numbers?

Sorry for the delay, I've finally got back to pulling the belts off and taking them to O'reilley's for a match. The Part numbers are listed below: Brand: GATES XL 7640 (13/32"x64 5/8" OC) - you need 3 of these XL 7500 (13/32"x50 5/8" OC) - you need 1 (Power Steering Belt) It's relatively...
