Lifting my m1009 with m1008 axles

Even with the shorter wheelbase of the Blazer? I know a lot of full size trucks can take fairly large lifts with stock rear shafts, but as the wheelbase shortens, I know the amount of slack afforded by the rear drive shaft changes. For example, my Cherokee (similar wheelbase to the Blazer)...

    1009 lift

Well aren't you spaycial? Trimming is a good thing if you wheel in something other than mud. No need to knock down what other people are doing just because it doesn't line up with your own particular philosophy.

    1009 lift

With trimming, it seems it should be easy to fit the 35s. There's one guy here running 37s with no lift.

To run the HMMWV wheels and tires, are you running any spacers?

    33" tires on M1009 CUCV

For me towing would be an occasional thing, and likely the heaviest load would be a trailer full of hay or maybe dirt/gravel. I originally wanted a 1028, but this needs to be a family camping/wheeling rig. With the 1028, I would've kept the Jeep and wheeled that, but still need to get the family...

    33" tires on M1009 CUCV

I'm looking into the possibility of buying an M1009, most likely from 100dollarman since he's local and gets them in, and then parting my Cherokee to fund the purchase/build. I'd likely stick with 33s at first, since I could steal them from my Jeep, and do a 4" lift. Rough Country actually...

    Hummv rims om M1028

I intend to run HMMWV tires on my 1028 when I pick it up as well and have been interested in how the HMMWV wheels would work out as well. Is it possible to run the 37s with no lift and just trimming the fenders? I know from my Cherokee that if a tire won't fit, cut til it does. :D Will it...

    HMMWVs Off Road Use Only?

All of the trucks are designed for highway operation though. I've never thought to look up close at the tires to check DOT, but I'd be surprised if they weren't. Either that or the military gets an exemption...I know in most places riding in the bed of a 5ton with noting but a troop strap across...

M1008 6.2L Diesel. To Turbo or to Replace?

If you have an M1008, your gearing islikely at 4.56. As far as I can tell, all trucks came wit the 4.56 gears. The M1009 Blazer has 3.08s.

Just put a turbo on my m1028...wow!

I don't remember who made it, but there was a company making a tow behind 5th wheel hitch. You'd hitch it to your standard hitch, and it consisted of an axle with a 5t wheel mounted above it. You may look into that for the 5th wheel option. I'd imagine a 5th wheel in the back of a Blazer would...
