Thanks for the information. I will go over to the paint shop, where the truck is now, and get the frame serial number. I find it fascinating that this truck may have been brought back from Europe after the war. I'm supposing that this may have been to restart the domestic truck transportation...
Huge thanks for that suggestion; it worked like a charm. She drives fine now.
Have attached some pix of the old girl. I'm having her hauled off to the painter today for a new paint job, and then I'll get her back in my shop and start on the cab interior. It's still 6V electrical, and starts...
Many thanks for the pic of the data plate. The truck does not have this plate. Do you happen to know if I can get this made somewhere?
Thanks for the information. I managed to get the left-hand lever (range selector) into high range, but can't seem to move the right-hand lever so as to...
I will look for the data plate. Can you tell me where the frame number is?
My understanding is that the truck was originally an open cab, but was in an accident, and someone replaced the cab. The truck was used to move houses out here in El Dorado, KS.
Thanks
Newbie from Kansas has acquired a truck that has been described as a '44 GMC CCKW. I have no documentation. The truck runs and I intend to restore it. My first question is the shift pattern. The main box (transmission) is 5-speed, with 1st down and to the right, the rest if regular...
Thanks very much for all this information. I will make certain it is not seized, then offer it for free to whomever wants to pay for the shipping. I have no use for it, and there isn't much money involved.
I have an engine+transmission that I believe came out of a military vehicle that I would like to identify and find someone who could use it.
Apologize for the pictures; it's stored in a barn. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
Thanks
See my calculation of the crawl ratio above. It was derived from the following source:https://liftkits4less.com/blog/heres-how-the-mahindra-roxor-compares-to-a-1948-willys-jeep
which claims the Roxor has about the same crawl ratio as the M38.
Not true?
Thanks
Thanks. Did not find an external crawler box, but did run across this: https://www.thecj2apage.com/forums/teraflex-low-18-3-15-gears-in-dana-spicer-model-18_topic44041.html
This looks like a big deal, big enough that--for me at least--it would make better sense to sell the Roxor and get an M37.
