I soldered the Fusible links together but plan on getting clamps at Napa later. The links did their job and surely saved lots of component damage on the CUCV. The only residual issues I have left are to fix are my tail lights, dome light, and dash lights that are not working. These particular...
OK to solder in a replacement fusible link?
Do you know if it is OK to solder in a replacement fusible link or do I have to clamp it together somehow? I never worked with one of these things before. Thanks.
Any help would be appreciated.
I hooked up my alternator wires on the driver's side backwards and fried the blue fuseable link. I soldered in a new fuseable link, replaced the alternator with a newly rebuilt one, and charged the batteries up. Now my CUCV will not start. I don't get any power...
I sure wish I would have ordered more rebuild kits from CUCV Electric when I had the chance. Sure miss him now. Visited the website but still is not in operation. Can anyone recommend another good vendor who can supply a quality complete rebuild kit like he did for a decent price for my CUCV...
I live about 5 or 10 mins from you. I live near Heritage Hills. If you are still having issues with your 1028, let me know and I'll come over and see if I can shed any light on the subject. I had my truck for about 3 years now and have run into most of the problems everyone else has had (alt...
Amanda in Mechanicsburg GL
Amanda came to the front gate to give my dad's truck a jump when his car died. I buy stuff there at least once a month and I am always pleased with her service and how accommodating she is. In a day when customer service is lacking everywhere, it is good to see when...
I have a 1999 KLR-650A USMC with 4 original miles on it that has been sitting outside on a pallet at Lackland AFB. I am thinking of selling it. Some parts were taken, but nothing major. I have not gotten around to restoring or even starting it yet. It has been sitting in my garage for 2...
LTT Trailer
I was able to snag one at FT Meade last month for $900. Converting it to a motorcycle trailer for the CUCV. Brand new and was never used. Tires were replaced with older ones and an LED light had to be replaced, Very nice trailer. Will post photos with the mt500 and KLR650 on it...
2330 - Trailers at Government Liquidation
I have a similiar dilemma. I want to move this trailer into my garage with either a hand dolly (harbor frieght) or a powered one. My question is: Do you think I can move a 1200 pound trailer like this with a hand dolly on the front? I have a very...
PENNDOT and Title Issues
Took off work today to run up to Harrisburg to get titlework for the M1028 and M1008. Seems PA will no longer accept the transfer FL assignment. This may be recent or it may be that I got the wrong clerk. Anyway, GL has to get an actual title from FL to proceed so I...
I will be interested to see what the upcoming KLR sells for on Dec 1st. I also will be interested to see how the KLR stacks up to the MT-500 (if it runs when I get it from TX.) I'll let you all know.
