So who has a multi fuel motor thats runs for sale? I have checked around and not much luck. Gl had some motors but in Barstow, CA. A little to far for me. Also, has anybody put a different type of motor in their Deuce with no or little modification? Thanks-Todd
Well... the positive thing about all this, is that at least I learned how to tear the motor down. I am thinking a take out would probably be my best option at this point. I do appreciate all the advise. I pm a member in in IL who has a motor, so I guess I play the waiting game. If anybody has a...
No need to apologize Dipstick, I didn't think you were a smartass. You comment made sense and I completely understand. I would think if I didn't have oil getting to my bearings that I would have had issues sooner but I could be wrong.
I am not a mechanics bit from most of you guys, no I did not make sure the holes were lined up, I didn't know about lining them up. I did not gauge the crank or bearings since all looked ok, I reused the bearings but different rod and piston. I applied assembly lube to the bearings from pistons...
Bearing issues
So I rebuild my motor a while ago after melting a piston, cracked two sleeves, and a blwon head gasket, and after a few weeks now my motor grinds and won't stay running. It makes horrible knocking and grinding sounds. I pulled the oil pan off and found tons of metal in there. I...
I have done lots to mine, including head gaskets and piston/sleeve replacement. If you need or having questions on anything let me know or post/ research the forum. Lots of help here and info. Also, Gimpy robb is a good guy to deal with. He helped me a lot with my issues.
I hope the po is giving you a good deal if the truck is abused like you said. I have seen plenty of Deuces for sale at a decent price. Just depends on how far your willing to go to get one. I can only imagine how the clutch and tranny conditions are. . .
If you bypass the fdc, does it cause any issues if you run other fuels like wmo or wvo? I have thought about doing mine, but I like to run other fuels if it saves me money and I wasn't sure of the effect it would have.
Great thread!! Glad to see scientific data instead of opinions. Learn something new everyday. I have ran different fuels in my Deuce, wmo is ok but diesel or kerosene has seemed to get the most performance out of my engine.
You could look up D and D Equipment in Big Rapids MI. Talk to David. He worked on my truck and is reasonable. He has worked on many multi fuels before so he knows his stuff. I'm sure he will tell you exactly what your issue is and how to fix it or give you a good estimate over the phone. He...
