I received zero response to the poll I posted with this thread. Some members have replied to the thread with their own ideas, but that is not the input I asked for.
At This time I have decided to postpone further R&D on bolt together brush-guard kits, and MP push bumpers.
First check the (Gen1 & Gen2) lamps. They should come on when you first turn the key on. If not replace the bulbs.
If the bulbs are good. Remove the Alternator and have it tested at your local auto parts store. (test it as an alternator for a 1978 Cadillac with MPFI). If it is an isolated...
The push bumper pins into the tow points, and uses two of the bumper mounting bolts. It is made of 3/8" plate steel for the uprights, 3/16 steel strap for the upright face, and 1.5"x 1/8 wall tube. You can defiantly push with them.
I have only seen the MP push bumper on 3 of the M1009...
Happy New Year everyone.
It has been almost 2 years since I decided to open my own shop and specialize in the repair and restoration of former military vehicles. I wish to thank all of my customers for the support. Thank you very much. It is greatly appreciated!
As part of an expansion and...
I am glad you are happy with the super singles. (It was a good thing that the hub flip was done. The rear axle seals had been previously replaced by a VFD, and the outer seals were leaking oil into the hubs)
Be sure to check the lug nut torque in 50 more miles.

Can you post pictures of the M35 to show its current condition?
Estimate about $1000 to have a towing company pick it up.
Restricted access fees will apply.

I took this video Thursday evening, and finally had a chance to post it today.
It has been just over two years since the engine in my M1009 suffered catastrophic failure. In my spare time...
If there is blockage in the vent lines, this can cause the brakes to hang. When you release the service brakes (raise your foot off the pedal) , the air must vent to atmosphere.
Mud wasps (dobbers) can plug a vent tube in a very short amount of time.

Check the diodes. There are two of them. Each is soldered in behind the fuse box, between the terminals for the flasher relays. ( they can be wrapped in gray tape, or bare)
These are zener diodes. If the diode is...
There are 24 volt solar chargers available for sale in the venders forum.

It might be more cost effective to install one 24 volt solargizer, than purchasing separate 12 volt 1.5 watt solar chargers for each...
Yes, I learned my lesson.
The symptoms were so intermittent, and would only last for a second. I could not get it to replicate the problem when I tried to diagnose it. I was leaning toward a failing IP because all of the tell tail signs were there.
I have several 6.2 surplus engines in...
My M1009 has suffered some very bad luck. I have not honestly driven it, or worked on it since Christmas eve, when the engine developed serious problems while returning from the local off road park.
I have not had very much time to do a diagnosis because of my busy work schedule, and other...
