    HMMWV Replacement Batteries

I ran mine for a couple months with no trays and no shims. Just braced them down with the existing battery tie-down.

I've been thinking about adding that divider as well. Looks good. I think you have me convinced.

Yes. All of the Optima batteries will fit fine.

If trying to do a bumper on the cheap, It strikes me that the 4 support braces are not really necessary as all of the weight is on the the inner and outer brackets. Sort of like whistlepig's earlier statement, they're probably good to have if you plan on airlifting it, but not really necessary...

That's funny. I was literally just reading the same chart after searching 'grade 8 bolt shear strength'. Now, I'm sure it's not going anywhere. I just look at it and compare to twenty 1/2" bolts going through mine.

I think I would be nervous having that much weight on four 1/2" or even 5/8" bolts.

Any New HMMWV Owners in SE Florida

I installed the same seats in mine. Not difficult except the drivers seat required a bit of work. The install was documented here: http://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?144865-Home-at-last-94-M998A1/page4

You can run 65 psi if running Load Range 'E' tires. Not really necessary.
