mep003A Charlie Rain and wind let up some today so got a chance to look into low voltage on L1. Turns out that the bottom side nut on the the L1 terminal was missing leaving the wire eyelet to dangle on the threaded post. Threaded and tightened a new nut, started and run the set, voltage on...

mep003A Charlie Hooked the mep003a up to the house for the first time to get ready for Sandy. Moved the Circuit switch to 1 phase 220 volts. Things went well as I snapped on light breakers, the electric hot water tank, the freezer, and as I added more light breakers (lights were off for these...

Thanks Ike for the reply, do you have any info on how to check the output breaker or re-connection switch. Is this a case of dirty connections that can be fixed by cleaning. Since the panel volt meter seems to be reading correctly is that because the readings are taken before the breaker and...

Thanks, slats is a good idea. I think plywood will rot faster, maybe down the road when the tarp is no good, a more durable roof with plywood covered with something like ice melt roofing is the way. Don't plan to haul the gen. anywhere so a more durable roof might be a solution.

Anyone renforce the roof with plywood or equivalent. I'm thinking to stiffen the roof to prevent the tarp from sagging with rain water or snow. mep 003a m116 A2

mep 003a output split bolt terminal connectors What torque or how to tighten the large nuts on the split bolt output terminals. Looking thru tm couldn't find anything on how to tighten the nuts to clamp the wires. For the bottom nut seems like a thin open end wrench to fit between the wire and...

If one would connect a load between L1 an L0 that could draw 105 amps what would be the max amps in the line? Agree nameplate states generator puts out 104/52 amps for 120/240 volt 1 phase but what amps are the gen. circuit breakers good for? Charlie mep 003A

mep 003A house hookup amp rating Thanks to Ike and Gary on comments. Ike, you mentioned that amp rating for 10kw gen is 52 amp. How do you arrive at 52 amp, say for 120v. Iv'e looked thru tm but didn't find what amp the gen. breakers are rated for. Also read the thread about trying to get a...

mep 003A house hookup amp rating House is all electric except for oil heat. What size amp breakers and wiring should be used when connecting the mep 003A to house for emergency power outages. Will want to run furnace, refrigerators, maybe one burner on electric range, lights and tv...

Thanks for the info. Ah.... that mighty tm, how does one get along without it?? I'm about ready to hook gen. to house , the interlock system seems like the way. One source says if you buy the interlock device from the panel manufacturer it's approved, in my case the panel is square D. Will...

Should the gen speed, once set to get 60 hz (120 v 1phase) at about 500 watt load, drift down about 0.5 hz when loaded to 1700 watts? Will this amount of shift damage anything in the house if gen. is connected to house? I understand that computers don't like shifting away from 60 hz. What shift...
