Thanks! I have been looking for a while, learning and listening. David at eastern surplus has been very helpful, as well as the crew at Boyce. I was just wondering at the total lack of response with this particular site.

I am looking for an 809 series 5 ton, either an 813 or an 818. If I find an 818, I plan on installing a short cargo box in place of the fifth wheel, kind of a “shorty” 813.

I am looking to build a bobbed 809 series and I have been researching tires. I have seen a few builds mounting 16.00s with bridge truck inserts in the front to increase steering clearance. Any thoughts on this vs using the HEMTT wheels on the front?
