    Buying MEP-803A - Good Deal?

Thanks, all for your inputs. I’m gonna get it then. Seems like a steal for sure. It seems to be operational without any apparent problems…I let it run for 40 minutes while I looked around. They also have a smaller one, 5KW and it has 169 hours on the ticker. I may look into that one also. John

    Buying MEP-803A - Good Deal?

Hey All, I have my eyes on an MEP-803A with 290 hours. It’s clean, runs, has no leaks, makes power (at least 120V) and has new Oprima red top batteries and appears to have been maintained regularly as there are notes associated with the maintenance items. Ot starts easily and doesn’t smoke. I...

    Hole in Plastic Air Line

I think I found some at a local truck parts store. I’ll figure out the proper size and get it done. Simple! Thanks. John

    Hole in Plastic Air Line

Hey all, While using a cutting torch on my 5th wheel removal project, someone got a little aggressive and some liquid metal put a small hole in one of my plastic air lines. Is it acceptable to cut it cleanly at the hole and simply reconnect with a push connect? I assume I’d meet a DOT approved...

    CTIS Question

Haha. Well, I’m prior Air Force. So I guess it helped an Airman too.

    CTIS Question

I’d like to know if my M1088A0 CTIS has the functionality to automatically switch from cross country to highway based off of speed alone? here’s the scenario… I was in Highway mode, switched it to cross country and the system functioned as it should. All six tires were aired down. We started...

@Ronmar and @GeneralDisorder, that new pressure transducer seemed to be the issue! I installed the 0-100 PSI version, fired the truck up and it worked. A big thanks goes out to all that assisted. John

Their guide does that the tone the way you describe. I ordered the 0-100 as mine is a tractor (M1088) and the stock setup “should” be programmed for 80ish PSI. If it’s wrong, I’ll replace it. I’ll post an update when this gets here on Saturday. Thanks. John

@Ronmar. I verified I have continuity between pins a, b and J on the ECU and the PCU pressure transducer harness pins a, b and c. Also, using the Spicer service manual, I verified that the wet tank pressure switch is opening and closing on or about the prescribed pressures. See the attached...

I am absolutely not opposed to this at all. Do you happen to have a link or picture of the how-to? Thanks. John

Roger on reducing to 125. I did take take that sensor off the PCU…and it was locked on there right. The only thing in it was a little moisture. I short it with some spray and reinstalled. At next opportunity I’ll check continuity. If that all checks out, do you suggest a new sensor? If so, do...

@Ronmar and @GeneralDisorder, my air governor is now outputting 130 PSI. I can tweak it a bit to get it to 125 if necessary. The PCU is out, disassembled and found, overall, it wasn’t too nasty inside but the valves were not easy to get out. Shots of air and lubricant freed them. I cleaned it...
