Whoa, that doesn't sound good. Thanks for the info.
That's kinda odd though, after all what good is a battery if it has to be charger by a battery charger.
Thanks for that as when I was backing up the other day my friend saw sparks come out near the rear of the vehicle and I found some wires that the insulation had been rubbed off and I think they might have shorted to the frame. Now the truck won’t start and the batteries are reading 7.5 volts...
Got some pictures of the batteries. The picture of the info on the side is hard to read, but it says:

I have a pair of olive drab 24 V military batteries with vents that screw shut when you’re fording. I thought that they were the OEM batteries because they are huge and seem to fit perfectly in the battery box without any spacers, but looks like I was wrong about that. The previous owner said...
Anyone know where I can find OEM M35 deuce military batteries and for how much are they sold usually?

Also any idea...
I got a deuce from a friend. I drove it home but it has a leak in the brake system. After sitting for a few months, it now has no fluid in the master cylinder. He says it has a small leak that he has never been able to find, just add fluid and go, no need to bleed the brake system. Sounded a...
Looks pretty awesome, think I might bid on it.
What do you think?

This is for a 10,000 lbs winch on a 1968 Kaiser Jeep M35A2 The TM says make sure your winch pin is aluminum. Are they made from pure aluminum or aluminum alloy?
I was going to fabricated some from a 1/4" aluminum rod from home depot. Are the factory pins 1/4" in diameter?
Thank you.
