Cummins part number for the bracket is 3929418. Locally they are going for about 120, on ebay I found them for half that but they are gone as of right now. I think I might fab one based on the cummins part so I can replicate them whenever needed. Trucks with new alternators are doing great...
Thanks guys, done and good to go. I'm using oem cummins brackets, just bought last 2 I could find on eBay, probably get the rest from local auto parts store. I have 3 now, need 2 more.
I have purchased a couple 33 si alternators to install in my 931s and am not sure on how to wire it. Could someone provide some info on this?? The threads I searched through didn't give me details?
Thanks
No binding issues at all, not even wear marks on the axles after running for 3 plow seasons. The suspension when it is compressed moves back slightly due the motion of the shackles. The plow mount pivots in an arch due to the way it is pinned to the front bumper. We used a skid steer to push...
You could do like I have on mine, I use dump trailer motors, power up gravity down, cheap and easy. Going on 3 seasons of VDOT plowing with not 1 issue. Here is my latest mount for ideas, and one on a Stewart Stevenson as well.
I need a 1083 picked up and moved from the VFW in Spring lake Nc to Culpeper VA. It is not running at this point but I have help available to load at the pickup location. I need it done asap. If any of you can assist let me know, and it is greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Thanks everyone for the input!!! Paul from Transformed Transport moved it off base for me through the help of Erik (bikeman) and the VFW. It is off base and waiting to be picked up for me now without restrictions of base etc. On a good note my mom is doing great after surgery so all is good...
Well I won a Stewart Stevenson m1083 (Running truck) a couple weeks ago and I have repeatedly had problems that have prevented me from getting down there to pick it up. Is there anyone locally that I can pay to pull it off base and store it for a couple weeks? I planned on tomorrow night but...
Thanks for the input on where to get the motor. My motor was toast and to expensive to rebuild, so I ended up finding one in Ohio for a really reasonable deal. I pulled it out on Thursday night, drove all day friday to get the new motor back to Va. We Started putting it in at about 10 am...
Thanks for the reply. Looking at the tm you can trace the wiring on the charge circuit and see it. I replaced my run solenoid and all is good now. Man it is a pain to work in that little box....
I am having a problem with one of my 931a2s. The other day on the way home from a storm my voltage started creeping down like my alternator was not charging. (brand new alternator) I got home and the next day charged the batteries and it displayed symptoms of a bad pcb. No response to start...
Ok, bad news..... the head is warped, valves are in need of re-seating so off to Ohio I go in about 3 hours to pick up a newish motor. 30 day warranty and I get to hear it run before I get it. I should have this thing back in by Sunday night just in time for some possible snow events next...
Removed the head today.... melted no 5 piston, bent exhaust valve and broke the rocker arm retainer. Liner is shot in number 5 and rough in one and three. I'm having the head checked for cracks and make sure it is not warped. 2 injectors were hard to get out and I think number 5 injector has...
Ok, I am moving the truck inside today and pull the head to see what damage was done. The truck runs with a miss. Number 5 cylinder is gone, looks like raw fuel coming out of it and when you crack the injector it makes no difference in how the motor runs. Number 1 cylinder also showed very...
I have a motor overheat and loose a cylinder (still diagnosing) and It seems doing an in-frame rebuild is what I am leaning towards. Has anyone here done this? Just looking for pointers advice etc.
Thanks
