If I have a salvage titled truck, I think it should be easy enough to register it as that and if anyone ever complains, just make the point that its a different cab on the titled Chevy running gear. But that's good to know that the ext. cab long box is that close of a wheel base. It may make...
I know what you mean, I have an "86 k10 silverado" with a Dana 60/ corp 14, and a 78 c10 with a corp 14 and a 454.
I think you misunderstand my intention though, I love the body of the m211. Everyone has a Chevy truck, no one has an m211. I may still try to finagle the title to a Chevy pickup...
Well, I am back at school, so things have slowed... actually stopped all together with it right now. The trans issue is still unresolved, I have tried tinkering with it, but no such luck. The carb rebuild went fine. I got a cone air filter to put on it for the time being until I can find tubing...
If its anything like a traditional carb, dad is pretty good at rebuilding the the old quadrajets, I maybe able to trick him into rebuilding this for me as well. maybe the part store has a kit? Ill ask when I go get the carb spring. That would be great if a simple carb rebuild would fix my...
Thank you!
Brand new oil in it, and brand new gear lube. Trans is full. All the diffs have been lubed up. The ignition system I suppose could use an overhaul, but its working alright. Have no idea where to get that hose, unless I fab my own up, and is there any way to change it over to a paper...
Well, I bought it. 3 hours north of me, took a while to get transportation set up, but she is home. I am posting some pictures
So here is all about it:
1) runs good. There is an electric fuel pump on it, I think it gets to much and loads up sometimes, but no big deal. Carb spring broke today...
Thanks for the info. I am looking for some truck that may have a title. I'll call one of my cop friends and maybe he can spread some insight on local procedure. I tried getting the guy to come down even more on the price due to the title issue, but he is stuck hard and fast at $1100. Stupid red...
Ok, so update on the title:
The guy says the DMV won't give him one. I called the DMV, and they made it sound like its some huge, nearly impossible process... So anyone have any ideas? I still plan on buying the truck. How difficult is it to find parts trucks with a title for a few hundred...
So I read through some of this thread and found it really interesting. But there is some things I don't understand, that may very well have been answered in the 31 pages of thread. First off... A 6.2 over a 6.5? I am a Chevy guy all the way, but I would never consider a 6.2 bulletproof. He said...
Ok, sounds great. I'm a lot more confident about buying the truck now. I am going to try to get up
There by next weekend and bring it home. I must admit I have been thinking about this thing pretty obsessively lately. I am itching to get up there and see it. Speaking of snow, are plows available...

the current owner is going to try and get me a title. we actually have a scrap yard, But in all honesty I have never seen one come through. Hopefully he will be able to get a title from the DMV since the truck is so old and probably hasn't been registered in years. I am going to keep looking for...
He must of bobbed the truck then? I can't imagine tires that tall would fit with the dual rear axles. it would be a cool truck to see. thanks for the info on it. I guess he would have to run the original T-case because otherwise the tires would spin the wrong way.
Mille lacs is actually about 1.5 hours straight west of me. We have an excavating company, so trailering is not a problem. @stan... it is finals week (i am in college), So I can't go up and look at it/ buy it till probably next weekend... so until then I am just trying to get as much info as I...
