I've just replaced the old 1/4" rubber tie downs for the M101a3 cover. I searched all over the Internet for the correct diameter size rubber cord... couldn't find any. I then settled for the next size up... 3/8" rubber cord, which is what truckers use to tie down their tarps. I found that most...
I was just wondering... At the Tracy Army Depot yard... the girls in the GL office, including the office manager... said that we could take our time making sure the trailer we were picking up, was safe to take on the road... but the yard foreman said that we had 20 minutes to hook up the trailer...

The first three photos are of my hand made landing gear handle... which the original handle was missing. I had an old 1/2" drive speed handle laying around and a worn out 1/2" socket collecting dust... cut a couple of slots for the shaft and pin... works like a champ!

Howdy fellas...
Here's a few photos of my first trailer recovery... actually it's really my 82 year old dad's trailer... I just helped him with the bidding, all the paperwork and computer stuff...as he doesn't do computers...
Got the trailer on Thursday from the Tracy Army Depot and brought it...
Almost forgot about the time line...

This waiting for the EUC paperwork to clear is driving me... NUTS! But I'm really glad that somebody is...
Just got back from the Sharpe's Army base in French Camp, CA. checking out the trailer I won... (not until the EUC clears) The Security there was pretty tight there... They kept some of the sold items in a secured fenced in area.
The people there at GL... were very pleasant and let me check...
I live only about an hour and a half from the base... I'll still want to check it out... but won't get too involved in it. I don't want to get burned either...
That's crazy! Why would the Government have requirements for a EUC on a trailer and not on a 5 ton truck? Tell me this isn't a Government program at it's best!
I guess you've just got to play the game... in order to get anywhere... "Stand by to stand by..."
Wouldn't the base be responsible for the things stolen off your trailer?
Maybe I'll deploy the canopy onto my trailer... might ward off the sticky fingers crew...
All I was going to do was to check on the trailer... see if there was anything missing or if I needed to bring anything extra when I eventually recover the trailer... check the tires and lights etc... I wasn't going to add anything to the trailer at all... maybe take some better pictures... that...
Has anyone here... actually get to inspect and prep their auction won trucks or trailers before your EUC has cleared? I just called the Army base at French Camp, CA. where my trailer is being...(quarantined)... er... held. The lady on the other end of the phone who works for GL and works at the...
Thanks Mark... for all you research... very much appreciate the info... maybe I'll just try to fix the one I have now... making a new breather tube doesn't look too difficult to make... just need the proper diameter of the metal tube... make a couple of bends in the tube, a couple of flanges at...
