The motor right now has a leaking head gasket. I replaced the head gaskets about two years ago and it has been fine until about two months ago. The truck still runs great and has plenty of power with no smoke, it is just over pressurizing the radiator right now. With the truck running there are...
Has anyone had any experience with a remanufactured Jasper engine? I need a new motor for my m1008, and if I am going to spend the money I want to make sure that everything has been redone on what I put back in it. I have always heard Jasper engine are one of the best, but they don't get good...
It's way cheaper to buy the caliper brackets and then go to an auto parts store and buy the calipers, hoses, and pads. This is what I did in my m1008. They make a lot of money off you when they sell the kits.
Does anybody have pictures an under dash A/C evaporator installed in their CUCV? I have looked at many A/C threads but I haven't been able to find pictures of what the under dash evaporator looks like when its installed.
My M1008 pulling a 4000lb. excavator + a 3000lb. trailer
And here it is towing about 5000lbs. of gravel plus the 3000lb. trailer
I don't know what king of MPG I got, I was doing some landscaping this weekend and rented the equipment for just a few days and probably only drove about 25...
I was really happy with how the truck handled the load. Slow on hills but it wasn't too bad. I was worried, after I had heard some people talk about how bad the trucks tow.
I did not have to modify the curt hitch, but I did have to remove the pintle hitch and cut off part of the mounts for the rear towing shackles. You also have to drill holes in the frame. In my driveway with two people, a cutting torch, a cutoff wheel, and a drill it took about 4 hours to...
I removed the pintle hitch and bolted the Curt 14082 hitch to the frame. It handled the weight really well. I also have a Curt trailer brake controller on the truck
About 5000lbs. of rock plus a 3500lb. trailer
4000lb. excavator plus a 3500lb. trailer
This was the first time I have ever towed anything heavy with my M1008 , it really did better than I thought.
I used the factory replacement H6054 and the upgraded headlight harness. This made a huge difference. I did the headlights first and could notice a difference and a few months later did the headlight harness which was even brighter.
When I changed mine, I think 6 of the eight were swollen. Using vise grips clamped really tight on the plug and working them back and forth worked really well. Just takes some time...
The CUCV factory ignition switch did not have an accessory setting. If your CUCVs have had an accessory setting the ignition switch has been changed out at some point with a civilian GM switch
Also, my truck has been doing this the entire two years that I have owned it, I haven't noticed that the pulling to one side has gotten any worse. I have put about 5000 miles I the truck.
I have the same problem in my m1008. All the steering parts are new and it still pulls to the right. I took it to a local and reputable alignment shop. They told me I need a new steering gear box. They said that when you get in the truck without it moving and the motor running it is a little...
