Diesel engines create very little heat when not under load. I'll usually start mine up and let it idle for a couple minutes before I idle it up. I'll usually set it around 1500-1800 when I do idle it up.

Have you looked inside the frame rail? They might be hard to track down. Maybe someone cut the line or its plugged

The other ends are on the trailer. I went to my local trucker supply store and got an air line kit and put an air tool quick connect on it.

Here is the emergency side. Service side will look similar but is blue. The piece sticking out towards the rear is the gladhand. The other picture is the fitting on the ball valve behind the plate.

They are for trailer air brakes. Your emergency side fills the tanks on the trailer and the service side provides the signals for the trailer brakes to engage. You can also use the emergency side gladhand to use small tools. Like a tire chuck, air blower, small impact wrench.

That's possible also. Especially with the oil seepage. I'm not sure which engine it was but one of the engines they used in the deuces had head gasket issues frequently

It sounds like you could be looking in the right direction. You could have a broken ring or a worn out cylinder liner. If it has decent compression do a leak down test.

Thanks all for the welcoming and the advice! I havent had any issues with the transmission yet, but that bridge will come one day I'm sure lol. I'll probably wind up doing the flush just because in my experience with Allison's (mostly 3000 and 4000 series from my civilian jobs), I know...
I've been reading about the trans fluid. And I've decided at some point soon its gonna get flushed and some good atf put in. Does it work well with dex/merc? Or do I need to get that high dollar transynd (spelling?) allison fluid?
