I'm not sure who I talked to, D.O.T or D.M.V, but they won't give me back the title to my Blazer, that is without changing the title to say that it is a MV. They further went on to explain that in 2 months they will be sending out letters demanding you turn your title in...
I lost the bottom end of the motor in my first M1009, replaced it with a 6.2l from my 1982 suburban, think it was a C-code. As for power I know the J-code should make more, the civi engine I put in runs like a gas engine, makes much less noise then the military engine, and I don't think I lost...
I'm not sure how many digits in the vin I'll have to try to find the paperwork. I did the carfax thing on my other blaze and it came up as a D10 military blazer, the new one came up the same I think.
PM replied to.
Thanks for the reply.
Yes, I have been calling it a Blazer, that's pretty much all that it is. Took a quick look, the cold motivated me to hurry, my quick look resulted in no find of a sticker, just the standard door plates and optional equipment sticker in the glove box.
Well I just ran into a problem with the new MV plates. I'm trying to get plates for my M1009 Blazer, of course they say that's the only plate that i can put on.
Well I bought the thing to drive not just sit around in the yard and with the MV plates I would never get to drive it. Is the MV...
Well just with what I looked at so far it would be close or over what I paid for the truck to get a new axle and regear the front or get new axles all the way around, so not sure how I'll handle getting a new axle unless it's just a junker 10 bolt.
Mind you I never messed around with axles...
Thanks for all the replies, didn't think this would make it to 3 pages.
Well I tried to fix it myself, didn't work. I can't get the broken axle end to move so I can get to the c clip, so for the time I'm giving up on just changing the broken axle.
So now I guess I'm exploring axle options...
It was in 2H. It wasn't bouncing at all, the tires were barley moving if at all. I wasn't giving it much throttle, just enough to try to get it to move. I guess I should also add, the left tire dug down about 21 inches and the right tire dug down about 8 inches, not sure if that means anything...
Yeah I heard a pop when it went, knew right away I broke something back there. Thats the funny thing, I was going to get 33s, but figured I would break the axle so I stayed with the stock size and got 31s.
Well I just broke my first axle today on my M1009. Not sure how it happened wasn't beating on the truck too hard or anything. If you want a good laugh, it did happen in my yard :cookoo: Feel free to rub it in and tell me how to not break an axle if you'd like.
I'm totally lost on this one and...
I just got back from a trip, hitting the same big hills that I have with all my other trucks, and I didn't have too much of a problem this time. I was running between 55-60 MPH, puttered down to 50 MPH on one hill, another steep hill starting at the bottom I was able to get close to 50 MPH, but...
I do a lot of night driving (8-10 hours a day) and once I get the headlamp size figured out, putting Hella E-codes on my M1009 will be the first thing I add on this summer. I had a '09 Jeep and the headlights totally sucked on that, how I drove it at night I have no idea. What I did was get...
Once I get the time Ill have to try bypassing the filter and check the lift pump like said. With the little I did you can notice an improvement and I'm sure there's still a small leak somewhere but its good enough for now to keep me happy.
Negative, I pulled the return line off of the injection pump and shot air thru it to bleed it. Done it before a few times and worked well with no troubles, think it may be something with the new base its self, tired 2 bases and had now luck untill I put the old base back on.
I feel your pain, my newest M1009 does the same thing. I did have a bit of an air leak on the fuel filter base which fixing did give a little power back but I have yet to try going up a hill, still think it will be tough going.
My other M1009 has an engine form a '83 6.2L Suburban in it and a...
