I would consider upgrading to a newer TCM. When my TCM failed due to water in the waterproof box I decided to go with the transmission kit from Black Dog Customs. This way you are using a modern controller instead of the older box. I have put over 6,000 miles on mine since I installed it and the...
Black Dog Customs makes a kit that accomplishes this already. The kit is $89 and pretty simple install.

From my experience when my transmission controller died because the water proof box was full of water, without a working TCM you can drive it and it will get into 2nd gear but that is it. Essentially you are in what is called limp mode. Designed to be able to get you back, but not quickly. Don't...
That looks like the connector for the transmission controller, minus the transmission controller that is usually under the rear drivers side seat base.
What is an earlier "version truck" for you? My leg feels like it is going to burn when I wear shorts and my skin is in contact with the tunnel for more than a few seconds and I have an 04 M1123
In my truck as the engine heats up there is a noticeable temperature increase on the tunnel. I have the insulation but if I put my hand on the tunnel by the park brake I can feel the heat coming through. Not much of a problem in the colder months but during the summer I could even feel the hot...

Keep in mind that if you drive your truck in the cold that the empty switch hole is an ingress point for cold air. I had to Gorilla tape over the whole till I do something with it.
Be glad they still have the snorkel and exhaust. I got mine a year ago and at that time they were removing the key components for deep water fording. So on mine they took off the snorkel, exhaust pipe, fording switch, and CDR valve. Now I think they just remove the switch and the CDR valve.
Congrats on the win and joining the funo_O. I'm sure you'll learn this, don't trust the number on the odometer. In the military they swap odometers without resetting to match so it could have received a newer odometer while having more miles.
From talking with Michael Vaden, the injection pumps...
