Still haven't heard a word from CUCV Elec., been 3 mos. It was a $300.00 order, billed and paid for. If anyone out there can contact them and see what their plans are, I'd sure appreciate it. A USPS lable was created, but the tracking info shows it was never picked up at their end. Thanks for...
John, hope your health isssues are under control and thingds are getting better for you. I placed a relatively large order that hasn't come in yet, just wondered what the status is. I understand the difficulties you are facing, just want to know what to expect. Thanks, Joe
Are yours the "old style" mechanical dials or the electoronic digital LCD dials? I bought one from GL with the LCD dial and it takes some getting used to. You turn the dial and the number slowly comes to the setting. It doesn't have a set number of turns and is easy to overshoot the number...
You probably just have slippage issues. The alt has a load on it, charging the system. Especially right after a cold start. The batts have taken a big draw from the glow plugs and then another from the starter, so the alt is trying to bring them up into the "green". When you unplug it, the load...
Good Job!! Especially cutting up the credit cards.2cents Best thing I've ever done for my mental health. It's hard at first, but after a while you don't even think about it. Might want to reconsider the new window being able to open. The cross-ventilation would probably be worth it. Great...
As for the brackish/salt water issues...wash the under side down asap. Use Dawn dish soap or a product called Salt Away which is available at marine stores. Dawn works pretty well, not as good, but better than nothing. After it dries out thouroghly, spray a coat of Ospho on everything. It will...
I'll second the recommendation on the 60G's. All 8 are accessible without too much difficulty with a deep socket. Be sure of a good connection where the terminal crimps onto the wire at the GP. I soldered and shrink wrapped them to be sure. I also changed out the relay at the same time to the...
A pilot I flew with had a similar problem. "Truck" was meant to be a work vehicle, with a name on the side and tools in the back, ect. Just before he retired, he bought a top of the line cowboy Cadillac 4x4 with all the toys. The HOA called it a truck after only enforcing the previous...
The LMC kit looks like what I saw on EPay, but it didn't include the lenses and was a lot more $$$. Looks like a straight forward install and nice results. Thanks for all the input guys.
Sounds like it is possible that one or both alternators are not wired into the system, which would explain the chaqrging issue. Hard to say what damage is done if there is 24 v in the 12 v circuits. Bulbs and motors (fan, wiper) won't like it too much, relays will tolerate it for a while if...
A lot depends on the condition and the model. A2 with singles and a recent overhaul or an A1 with worn out duals and in need of repairs makes a lot of difference.
