Not too bad actually. Ross Prince is the guy to speak with over here. Has lots of stock .
I have not purchased too much from him yet but he is great to speak with and has a wealth of knowledge. But other than him that's it as far as I know.
I have ordered some things from Vehicles of Victory...
Finally,,,, we almost got the whole RH side of the tray finished today and ready for some new steel. The RHR corner stake pocket took hours. Just no room and it wanted it all straight and clean.
Next week .................LH side.
Just a short hello giving a quick update on the GMC. So far tray and all of the front panels have been removed. I have started cutting all the rust out of the tray and got brand new stake pockets from Thomas and "Vehicles of Victory".
Hoping to have all the rust cut out of the tray this weekend.
Hi Rick,
The GMC was actually about a 10 minute drive from my house. I knew it was there but I was not really looking for a CCKW 353 yet. I wanted a Jeep to restore first.
But the friend of mine who had the truck convinced me that because I was having such a hard time to find a Jeep in Nth...
Hi Everyone,
I have a little bit to the GMC CCKW, basically just removing everything from the rear tray. Mud guards, Lights, Trail plug.
What has take so long was the bolts. Almost every single bolt is either rusted and broken, impossible to get off or just takes hours to remove. I have...
I posted some pics a while ago of this Truck. I have now purchased it and have it at home.
The tray is the most problem. Rust has gotten to it. But it can be fixed.
Thanks Stoner,
I still have not had a chance yet to look at this helicopter. My friend that knows where this is located is a shift worker and for him to get time off is hard. He finishes his contract early next month and I am hoping to go and view it then.
But that is a good way of tell...
Hi everyone,
Thanks for the response to my qestions.
To answer just a few,
I would like to give it a full ground up rebuild, as a truck a truck like this deserves. Can anyone recommend a good reputable company I could use to get the parts I may need to rebuild it ?
And what about a good...
Hello Everyone,
I cannot seem to find a Willy's or a GPW Jeep anywhere near where I live, so I am now deciding if I should purchase a mates CCKW 353 LWB. I have always wanted to make my first restoration a Jeep and then do a GMC CCKW but it looks like it might have to be the other way around...
Just a short update people. I sill have not had a chance yet to view the 2 Bell 47 Helicopters. My friend that knows where they are located has not had a weekend off in weeks. I am hoping that I should be at the very least view and take some photos of the 2 helicopters in a few weeks.
I...
Hi Heath, I am so looking forward to seeing it sometime on the weekend. Hopefully I can come back with heaps of photos and more information for everyone.
He is asking between 15K-20K for 2 of them. One is apparently still flying, and another one for parts. He was last flying it about 3 months ago. Until I get photos next week I am unsure of what I am going to do with it. I would look sensational restored but I would rather keep my feet on the...
