    Tall cargo cover

It looks like the common glue for this job type is HH-66. My plan is to attempt the repair. I also realized a previous owner cut a hole for a rear door. I'll have to either find damaged cover that has the rear panel in tact or just fill it in with some new sheet.

    Tall cargo cover

I got a cover when I purchased my Deuce. I am trying to decide if it is worth repairing. The main thing I noticed is it appears to be taller than standard. A previous owner appears to have drilled holes to hold the side supports up higher to accommodate the tall cover. Anyone know if this is...

Thanks for that info. Good to know.

Injector tester setup, fittings and initial testing

Engine is up and running again. I'm more surprised how well it ran with poorly functioning injectors than how it is running now. It is at least as good now, but there is no obvious improvement. This video shows the exhaust around 4:40 and it is very clean...

    CA Hagerty Alternatives?

I have Hagerty in MN and was not informed of any garage requirement when I signed up. I was out of options and was happy to find any legal means to drive my Deuce even if the policy covered nothing but allowed me to drive. You should ask "how about if my garage fits in my Deuce? Would that...

Cylinder Liner broken pieces in oil pan

It's running again: Part 5: https://rumble.com/vj41wv-m35a2-cylinder-liner-repair-part-5-running-again.html The new liner and the 5 cracked liners have survived about 70 miles of driving so far.

    Torque stick or torque wrench

About 3 feet. My body weight (190 lbs) a few inches from the end is the correct torque, if I calculated correctly.

    M35A2 Cylinder Liners - Type "Y"

from the TM: " 1. Look at left side of crankcase opposite each cylinder bore about one inch below top of crankcase. The letter "Y" opposite a cylinder bore means this is a Y-size cylinder bore. The letter "Z" opposite a cylinder bore means this is a Z-size cylinder bore." In the picture...

    M35A2 Cylinder Liners - Type "Y"

I have found multiple sources for type "Z" cylinder liners, but my Continental LDT 456-1D has the "Y" stamps. Though a Z fits, I don't know if it will work as it is slightly smaller OD. Are the "Y" types extinct?

    Torque stick or torque wrench

I use a simple breaker bar, did the math, and put a piece of tape where all my body weight at that point creates the correct torque. As others said, the condition, cleanliness and lubrication is a factor. I have a torque multiplier, but don't use it unless a nut is stuck, which is rare.

    C turbo rebuild

I found a rebuild kit for the "D" turbo that included bearings, but not the compressor wheel. There were also a lot of compressor wheels, but it was hard to be sure if any were a good match and I ended up getting a used 'D' turbo as a replacement. Here is the kit (note it may NOT work for a C...

Injector tester setup, fittings and initial testing

Thanks for the reply and info. I had no luck finding non-brass fittings so took the chance. I wore a full face shield for the initial testing. The tester is a very common, below $100, just search for 'diesel injector tester'. Surprisingly the main body of the tester is plastic, but it still...

Injector tester setup, fittings and initial testing

While working on another repair, I decided to test my injectors and discovered half of them were not performing well, yet the vehicle had been running fairly well. Started easy in warm weather, not great in cold weather. Video showing my fittings setup to work with a cheap ebay tester and...
