The 6 volt solenoid on my 53 willys is shot. I have a 12 volt solenoid that looks identical, but it says 12v on it. The 6v solenoid has no markings. Would it be safe to use the 12v solenoid on the 6v system? The solenoid was mounted to the firewall.
Would need the 24v generator. $$$. I have a 251 engine sitting on another m37 frame, has civilian distributor and ran for previous owner. Could switch it out.
Have started the long process of getting my m37 to start. The truck was converted to twelve volts long before I purchased it. Did not run for previous two owners.
The good - New battery and plugs, starter will turn over.
The bad - I had to wire in a new civilian ignition, #11 wire going to...
I have the 4 wire on/off ignition with rubber connectors on the back for my m37. It will not turn. I have taken the handle off and with pliers tried to turn it to a different position without any luck. Any ideas?

M37 Seats
For my first M37 restoration I used a lowback jeep CJ-5 or Cj-7 seat. Worked well and these are pretty common. I used the backseat from a cj-5 for the passenger seat.
Jacked up the rear axle to pull the wheel off the ground, tried turning the wheel by hand, very stiff and no give. Have not put a battery on to try to turn it over.
Update
I bought the brown truck from Brian that was rescued back in January. It had many parts that I needed for the white one, however, the more I looked at it the more I decided on fixing it up instead. All has gone well with the body work and paint. I like the wwII lusterless. The only...
Previous owner took the distributor cap and wires off. How do I know which wire goes with which cylinder? Original waterproof type wires and distributor.
Sorry, didn't take the camera and this is 50+ miles away from me. Did not open hood. Basically a rolling chassis and cab or partial cab, had the semi-circle cut-out for doors, no bed, major rust where floorboard should be. Hood, front fenders, dodge nameplate in decent shape. GUy said he...
