As mentioned earlier, that picture above is from an A3 with the CAT 3116. Here's a snapshot of the alternator schematics from TM 9-2320-386-24-1-2. I believe the two wires in question are 770N and 770P.

Unispeed - Thanks for the links, they look very promising. Those insta-tube fittings look just like the Shark-bite plumbing connections.
