If you do buy surplus power, make certain that you know the frequency. A $400 60WK genset in 400hz is $400 you would wish you had to buy a store genset. What exactly does this mean? 400hz?

Once you have the SH__ hit the fan, the generator will be useless. But for instinces when the power goes out and your sump pump stops pumping flood water out... PRICELESS!

Thats what I want it for, my house in an outage. I don't know much about them except they can be bought cheap and seem to be big power... I am not planning any road trips with one, just would pull it home. Who does know about these generators?
