Digging up an old thread to ask if anyone put a gear drive in their 6.2 and what the performance results were if they did? I know consensus was the chain setup works well for less cost, but I'm sure someone did this mod at some point. You can't find the kits anymore, so someone had to have...
Look at the M-1010 setup. If you could get the various brackets the M-1010 has that you don't, you could put an AC compressor in. You would have to move the batteries to the rear of the cab in order to get the AC plumbing routed correctly, I think. That was my plan before I found my civilian...
Wow, hard to believe it took me five months to get around to finishing up that repair. I finally got everything buttoned back up, and started the engine to get the fluid flowing. Thanks for your help. I ended up getting a Fel-Pro gasket and used Permatex High Tack gasket sealant in between...
It's a new Bosch water pump. It looks to be the same as the old water pump. I think there were some imperfections in the casting that caused it to rub on the balancer. Ground a little of that away and it seems to fit better. At least now the holes line up and it seems to be off of the balancer...

I had issues with Rock Auto before. Ordered belts and hoses for my civvy blazer, and the shipping was more than the cost of the parts at O'Reilly's. I canceled my order and went to O'Reilly's. I guess the parts I selected were in different warehouses, so their system wanted to charge shipping on...
You have to have a fair amount of money, and patience, if you're looking to buy off GL. You might be better off looking at classifieds, Craigs List, or eBay for one. Some guys buy one from GL, fix them up a bit, and are forced by their better halfs to sell them. I ended up getting my '87...
