Mine are all 9/16 square. I found a short piece of 9/16 square tubing in the shop. I put that in a 12 point socket and crank away. Didn't expect the tubing to last long but it is still turning the plugs when necessary. It fits much better than the 1/2 drive socket wrench that the previous...
I am replacing the oil seals on my front axle. I am following the well detailed guides here and the TM. When I pulled the spindles off I found that they had been sealed to the knuckle with white RTV. When I got the seal retainers out they also had been inserted with RTV.
Unless I'm missing...
RE: Roanoke, VA Biodiesel Public Education Forum, Wed. 5/30/
I attended the forum and found it very interesting. Most of the information was from the commercial perspective; fleet management, blending technolgies, etc. Not much on the homebrew type manufacture that I was hoping for. The...
Tom, I have a gantry hoist which has been mounted on an M103 trailer. They are for sale and listed in the classified section. http://www.steelsoldiers.com/modules.php?op=modload&name=PN_zClassifieds&file=detail&cat=5&de=399
RE: Re: RE: BRAKE LIGHT
I ran into the same problem with the lights on a M103 trailer. Why are the two mounting bolt holes not common inside the light housing? Anyone have an idea?
Cranetruck, never thought of dielectric grease as an insulator.... You are correct, a conducting grease would...
I picked up some spring loaded valves somewhere, might have been Saturn. I ran a longer cable to the rear, added a loop handle and a return spring. Bleeding the tanks has never been easier. Total cost was probably close to $25.
I installed the Napa muffler in the same fashion as others in this thread. I'm not happy with the mount. I used a stainless steel hose type clamp. So far it is holding up but I need to replace them with something beefier. I pre-painted the parts with hi-temp paint from the auto parts store...
The headache rack that came with my duece had a couple of broken pine 1x3 boards. I removed the boards to replace them with a more suitable hardwood. After removing the boards it became obvious to me that they were added to the rack to raise it and match the height of the sides. I reinstalled...

OK. got the pictures posted.
The hoist I was referreing to is a 1 1/2 ton chain host which runs along an I beam which runs down the length of the trailer.
This trailer was an "extra" that came with my duece. I've done some research and found that most trailers configured like this were mounted with a generator. The hoist appears to be added later and from amount of rust I have assumed it is old enough to be military modified. The manufacture...
What a great thread! The turn signal on my m35 has never flashed. However you could move the lever back and forth to "Manually" flash the lamps. I had convinced myself that this was the intended operation. This works well until you try to brake, shift, turn, and flash at the same time...
Thanks for the welcome. As for the tires... I don't remember. They are high speed truck tires, two different mfgr but seem to be well matched. The previous owner had been running NDT but the local cop hassled him relentlessly until he put these on it. Unfortunately he didn't keep the NDT...
