I'm having the same problem with my M1009 after a day of pretty hard wheeling in it. By that I mean the entire truck is covered in an even, heavy coat of sugar creek mud. I'm guessing the power steering pump went bad but I'm unsure. I was wondering if there has been any fixes to this problem...
My stock fuel filter housing is dumping out massive amounts of fuel so it's time to upgrade to a spin on filter. I've already pulled out the pressure sensor, tapped it, and pipe doped a screw to go in it but it turns out it's leaking from the back. I've already made a plan to use the NAPA 4770...
I will, thank you doghead. I didn't think to google the pump and look it up. It was installed incorrectly though being as its as far from the tank as I think it can be. Hopefully all I'll have to do is re-run the hose from the hard line coming from the tank and directly attach it ti my filter...

That's the link to it for sale on ebay. He told me the mechanical when out and it was just easier to replace it with an electric than replace...
Yeah, I'm going to give it a try but at the moment I'm calling around trying to find the best price on an electric lift pump and am about to head out to drain my tank. I just found out this weekend that it's actually a transfer pump on there so haven't had much time to locate a better replacement.
Is the lock up solenoid something that can be replaced with the trans still in the truck? I'll be honest, I'm a little nervous about opening up an automatic transmission.
Yeah, I was afraid that was the problem. It's strange because I've been running this fuel for 2 years now, but my truck has been sitting up for about 7 months being as I had to rebuild the front end, batteries, alternators, starter, and fixing the radiator. So in that time I guess I could've...
I'm sorry everyone, I know posting something as urgent as this may be frowned upon but my situation it very critical (to me anyway). I was driving from Memphis to Oxford MS to work this morning and blew the transmission up in my Z71. So I'm needing to get my M1009 on the road immediately but I'm...
Check your trans fluid, if it seems dirty or "burnt" then you have some bigger issues. If not then you may have a smaller problem. Like Skinny said, it sounds like your reverse clutch is going bad but if you check your vacuum system and all is good your pump inside the transmission could be...
you can still get home. Leave the relay hanging, after it satrs pull the relay out of the harness and you'll be good. I had to do that going home from work a year ago before I did the relay mod.
I've been thinging about cherry bomb glass packs. Anyone else done this? Every gas burner I've owned I've ran straight pipe, I'd love to that with this truck too but I'm afraid there would be too little back pressure. I just like it loud enough to hardly hear the radio up, but I also don't want...
