Here are two quick pictures I took tonight to show you how the after market Yokogawa 254350AJ-AJ9 gauge looks in the panel. Tomorrow I will open the control box and show you how it is wired, its very simple.
I had the same issue your did so I removed the transducer plus the old gauge and installed one of these analog hertz meters. Yokogawa 254350AJ-AJ9 is the part number and manufacturer it is a direct drop in for the original hole in the panel. Note that this gauge requires AC current to be wired...
OK i would like to say thank you to everyone who has helped me along the way in solving the various problems with the Mep003a that i bought. As well as sorry that it takes me so long to reply but work has been rough! I know that i seemed to have solved the issue with my Hertz gauge by...
I received this very quality built looking regulator from triple Jim and proceeded to install and wire it up. I was happy to see that the regulator came with installation instructions as that is very helpful for a generator newbie like me!
I know my multi-meter is a cheapo! However it would...
I did not have time to go out and work on the unit today but i would like to thank all that posted a reply. I was not aware that the voltage regulator was missing but it makes sense now as i could not find out where it was located. I also thought it was odd that you had wires going to no where...
Hello all thank you for your responses as well as i would like to give a special thanks for SS member Guyfang for his continued help. It appears to me that someone went through my generator set and disabled a bunch of key systems. After knowing what i know now about the frequency transducer i...
Yes i checked that fuse only to find it had previously been cut out of the circuit as both wires had been cut through. I couldn't get a good look in there though i need to take that front cover off to see why some moron would disable the fuse. Along with that i found another wire cut clean...
So I installed a new Yokogawa Hertz gauge on the 003a this afternoon it was a exact drop in replacement. I would like to thank SS member Harleyd315 for providing me with the correct part number of 254350AJ-AJ9. However with the good always comes far greater bad of course so once i connected the...
Yeah it was a rookie mistake i will admit, It was my fault i did not do the proper research on it. From what i can tell yokogawa makes a contained unit that looks very similar to the gauges that come on the civilian Onan DDYJ versions i would be perfectly happy with that. I saw a older post...
Today i had a short time to work on the generator and i discovered a few things that are a bit disheartening. First off i connected the mep017a Hertz gauge that i purchased online to the existing wires were the factory mep003a hertz gauge connected and i got no reading at all. My digital multi...
Hello all I am sorry it has taken me so long to update the thread things have been crazy out here and I haven't had much time. Thank you all for all the helpful replies I appreciate them! I have not gotten a chance to mount the after market fuel solenoid to the unit yet but will let everyone...
(ChainBreaker) That sounds great i briefly looked on eBay to see if i could find that seller to purchase one of the gauges but could not find them. Would you happen to have Jim C's seller name or a link to his products? Also i have seen those kill-A-watt meters in videos of MEP003a online and...
