Does the engine Data plate show "210HP", do you have a picture of it? , Does it come with any of the rebuild paperwork to show diameters and test run data?
Installed the IP yesterday, day started out at 4F and about 8 hours later as I finished in the dark it had gotten to 16F WOW what a long job to do outside this time of year. The original pump removal was by far the longest part of this project I did not remove the radiator, the PTO shaft ...
So the new IP arrived today , I noticed the FDC is fully plumbed on the new IP so I will be bypassing that prior to installation. I have a question regarding the install I am hoping to get some advice on here.
I plan to set the engine to TDC (LDT) prior to removing the original IP and verifying...
Freshly rebuilt IP on its way from my friends in Utah, I plan on installing it in the next week and will update this thread with the results.
I'm going to begin researching my area for someone to rebuild the pump being removed and give me a description of the problems found.
On that note I have been researching Injection pumps online and it seems ebay is around $1000.00 and CC and Eastern surplus are north of that around $1200.00 any one out there that can suggest other places to buy them at reasonable prices?
I may do that though even if I buy a pump to get my rig back up and running (My Deuce is used for logging, Ive been using my old beat up ford for 3 weeks now just doesnt compare) I would have my original rebuilt and put on the shelf for years down the road I can only imagine these pumps will...
I have pulled this pump apart 4 times now and nothing is really jumping out at me on this issue, At this point I guess all I can do is remove the governor housing and hope something jumps out at me.
I hate to just throw a new IP at it without understanding the problem, I've been reading TM's for...
Another day under the hood , removed the fuel cut off cover to expose the lever still in 5 o'clock position, removed FDC to expose other end of cut off rod and fulcrum lever (fulcrum not damaged) noticed steel tab that connects it to throttle rod is present and intact. I actuated the throttle...
so then if you were to take off the shut off rod cover having no load on throttle lever does the shut off lever sit at the 6 oclock position on its own?
Would you check the following for me , when you look at an IP that is not installed in a vehicle does the throttle lever arm going into the governor cover have spring retention holding it in position?
when I disconnect my throttle linkage from the arm on the governor housing is flops around...
I also noticed yesterday after I removed the throttle linkage and spring that are attached to the pedal the little throttle arm on the IP has movement 1n both directions where there is no spring response until you get to the far forward and far rear positions, so essentially no spring retention...
other than removing the throttle lever that goes into the side of the IP is there anything else to disconnect internally prior to removing the governor housing or will it just slide back towards the firewall after the houseing bolts are removed?
