The valve is the right way and it did rattle when I put together last fall.lost 2 quarts of oil,didn't register on dip stick I put a couple of 2 quarts in to load it and know it shows full.It would have all drained it was leaking good .

I had my m170 motor rebuilt and after about 200 miles ,I was driving it home and started loosing power so l pulled over and it was pukeing oil out of the drain plug hole in bellhouseing.It still runs good and doesn't make any noise.could my Pcv valve quit working and over preasurized motor...

My m170 does the same thing try taking dip stick out and turning 180 degrees.

What direction is Pcv valve supose to be,arrow faceing radiator or arrow faceing firewall ?

i have a heater that i took out of 1 of my m170's but i dont think it is gas i may be wrong, it been 3-4 years since i took it out.i will look and see extactly what it is? it was installed on pass floor kinda up under dash.heater matched contourd opening in floor.

1952 m170? i have tw o m170 jeeps the first is mfr. ser. 10161 with a del date of 3/54 the second with a mfr. ser. 12110 this jeep has no date of del. stamed on data plate .it is quite poss. your date of del. may have never been originally stamed , and somebody stamed 52 in over the years...
