I bought mine from them a couple years ago after few failed attempts through the GL.
Good guys to work with and they will let you run around with it for awhile to see how they run. I think I spent about 5 hours there looking over 4 or 5 of them before settling on the one i bought.
It was...
Mine was painted a few times , but I found a business card of a Michael Emmart Special Security Officer based at camp bondsteel in Kosovo in the glove box. Tried to look him up, but no luck so far.
The card was dated 2001.
After doing the starter relay fix my CUCV still would not start. So I jumped the Red and Purple wires off the relay and she fired right up. I can only assume it must be the iginition switch. Glad it wasnt the starter as I just replaced that last summer.
Did mine today thinking the original relay was bad causing my " no start" problem. Of course it didnt work, but at least its done.
Tomorrow I mess with the starter........
Filling the underground garage with noxious fumes.
Having people complain at the apartment i live at when i park out front instead of underground.
The best part is even when im in a crappy mood i get in that thing and i cant help but smile......
Dropped new starter in yesterday and its working well so no issues other than that, so far. Also , had hard shifting issues and replaced the vacuum lines and the difference is amazing! I would still like to dial the shift down a little bit, but will do that later.
Hope to install a radio next...
1. Turn key to on
2. Wait for light to go out
3. Listen for audible "clunk" of relay
4. Say prayer that the starter is still working!
5.Turn key to start engine
6. Idle up for a bit and then drive
It may not be that , but it started to act funny when the coolant leak drenched the starter. I will pull it and clean it up and see. The starter itself looks near new and batteries and alts check out ok.
I had a minor coolant leak that turned major as the crack in my crossover pipe kept getting bigger, I knew it was there, but kept saying i would fix it later. Well the leak got worse and drained down across the starter and soaked it a few times before i replaced the broken pipe. In the meantime...
So i take it the starter is engaging but no turn over?
Mine activates the card with a notable click and then you get the rrrrrrrrr. I then switch off and then back on and it fires. My batteries are less that a year old also. Alternators check out as good as do the batteries.
