can make it easy call a local cat dealer i use Peterson cat out here in Oregon. Give the cat dealer engine serial number and they should be able to tell you what alternators will fit it.
got it hot enough today to kick on.
it fires up right at 200 just long enough to bring the temp down then cuts out. seems to be working right.
no other bugs have popped up took it for a hour drive on forest service roads to shake it down and see if any problems came up but it went well no problems.
sourced most the parts i need already.
got the truck up to 55 today and it has quite a nasty vibration that only happens at 55 seems like it might be passenger side front.
all the hubs are warm after some driving none are hot to the touch.
no unexpected drips or leaks engine stayed cool fan...
Finally gotten a chance to look the truck over today.
found the dipstick is missing so replaced it with a cork and some electrical tape... changed out the oil and oil filter re tested engine and oil pressure still reading high at 3/4 at idle and maxed out at operating speed will run to town...
if the cover will be long term not being taken on and off often just use butal tape when you re seat it, it is what they use on RVs around all fittings can find it at most RV supply stores

fire turned back in to the National forest for the moment property is still a class 3 evac but everyone is holding tight and the property has quite a bit of goof defensible fire space at the moment.
a few hundred feet of fire hose is helping keep it wet atleast till they lose power
information needed explanation after this.

need information to walk non engine/truck savy people through how to check and add oil so it can be moved
