    MEP-804a charred wire. No AC

This is what I am thinking. I hope the previous owner was idiot and screwed it up. I hope we can just replace the wire and have it produced AC.

when you say fixing the thing that made it carry too much current. Are you referring to what it was powering or something in the genset?

    MEP-804a charred wire. No AC

A buddy of mine picked up a genset (804). It runs fine but doesn’t send power down the line. After poking around we found a crispy black wire inside the control panel. See Photos. Starts at the K5 block at the #6 terminal and goes to TB4-15. A few questions: what type of wire is this? The TM...

MEP-803A won’t start and making a terrible noise.

the white smoke is because it’s -30F degrees outside. On a warm day it only smokes for 1-2 seconds on start up. I’m hoping it’s just the starter dying.

MEP-803A won’t start and making a terrible noise.

My genset was running well with no issues. Then one day out of nowhere after starting, it made a terrible noise then it stopped making the noise and continued running fine. Now when I attempt to start it, it sounds like the starter is just free spinning. The genset has under 1000hrs and I just...
