Hey Matt,
I'll be in Fort Collins in about a month. Driving up from Vegas and visiting friends, then on over to Indiana on a relocation.
Glad to hear the weather is warmer, but being Colorado, that could change. I did some schooling at Lowry AFB back in the 80's and it snowed in June!
Ron,
The data plate looks suspect. The first red flag to me was the unmatched screws. Original plates are riveted in.
Then l noticed that the numbers looked engraved, not stamped.
When l restored my MB, l couldn't find anyone to stamp info on my new data plate so l went to Sears and had them...
l bought some tow shackle mounts off Ebay and need to know how they mount to the frame. Also, l'm assuming the longer ones go on the front?
Thanks
Jeff
lf l only had the cash :(
Cool lookin rig! Too bad the interior isn't correct

Yes, l know the feeling :(
Had to sell my 1944 MB and my M1009 to move to Vegas.
Hey Chris, l remember your old site! Had it bookmarked, along with Andy Michalski's site.
l give you a year or two before you get another, or you convert a burb for the ultimate CUCV experience!
Jeff

One thing l rarely see mentioned in restorations of post Vietnam vehicles, especially with the M1009 is stenciling the drivers name and rank on the bottom of the drivers side windshield and if its a command vehicle, the company commander/1st Sgt's names on the passenger side.
Now l don't know...
l am a few months away from starting my suburban conversion and was wondering how much brush guards/bumpers are going for these days? l'm surprised how rare they are!
Jeff
