The more I look at my wiring harness, the more I'm thinking about needing to replace it. Many connectors are missing/damaged, the shield is showing on lots of wires, and the wires are very brittle.
Am I being too picky and these are normal issues on a 60 year old vehicle and I should just repair...

Got dad's parts stash back home and pulled the engine/transmission.
A few questions about the parts....
Can somebody give me info on the heater?
In the shot with the plugs, I recognize the M38A1 plug, but what are the other 2 types?
What is the 6...
Got the engine and trans out. Hasn't ran for about 16 years.
Obviously needs gaskets and seals.
Looking at changing water pump and rebuilding fuel pump and carb.
New belts and all new rubber hoses.
Any other thoughts while I have her took apart?
As for brakes.....new everything on all 4 corners...

Getting ready to start further disassembly. Going to pull engine/transmission and replace gaskets/seals and do a thorough check out of both. Engine was rebuilt and running good before
being parked many years ago. Not locked up. But can't turn it much. Guy who had it before me took the cable...
Going to try and clean/repair the tank. I've heard bad things about the replacement tanks that are available and would like to fix the original if possible.
