Truck is good to go now. i guess it was being starved for fuel. turned it up a little bit and it doesnt die when you let off anymore. now if i can try and get some brakes on the truck i can get it out of my shop and give it back to the guy. thanks for all your help

yes the shut off is all the way off. both pumps had all of the same numbers on them i can try and get some pictures of them later on

well the injector pump that i originally pulled off of the truck was junk......try and explain this the best i can without sounding like an idiot.......on the bottom of the pump there is a small round plate with 2 bolts holding it in then a gear and a shaft that runs up to the gear that runs on...

thats another problem the tach in the truck does not work so i do not know exactly what it is idling at. i have turned the idle up to where i know it is faster then it should be and it still just dies when you let off real fast. it has good power when driving it so i dont think it is starving...

sorry man the motor came out of a duece so thats why i put it in here.

the truck set in a pasture for 2 years and didnt run. i had to swap out the injector pump for the guy to get it going and got it over to my house. drained all old fuel and cleaned out both fuel tanks. i havent checked any pressures yet.

all the filters have been replaced. it doesnt have an in tank pump this motor is in an M51A2. They have put an inline 12v pump on it......this is not my truck, just working on it for a guy.

i have got this motor to run pretty well but i have one problem. if you hit the throttle real quick and just let off it will die. you have to let off of the throttle real slow or else to motor will die. what would cause this?

the TM is kind of confusing on this.....is the red tooth suppose to be lined up with the pointer or one tooth to the right of the pointer. first it says line up the marks on the hub and just make sure the red tooth can be seen then goes down and says it needs to be lined up and then another...
