    Virginia Steel Soldiers Rally 2009

I'll be leaving out fairly early on Saturday. Should be about 1 to 1-1/2 hours of drive time. See you all late morning on Sat!!!!!!!!!!!:-D

    91140 gross and the 818

Two tickets were written here in Virginia within the last six months by COUNTY DOT folks. Don't know the details but the first ticket was for $16,000 and the other one was for $22,000. The first one put the guy out of business. My friends wife is a 911 operator for the city of Fredericksburg and...

    5-ton engine compatability question

I have a 250 Cummins in my 813 that is for sale. It won't come with any accessories, just the long block. It runs great but I'm doing a re-power with a 400. PM me if interested.

    M813 re-power underway!

Sorry guys, Been mowing all day today. I paid $3500 for the engine, $300 for the Jakes which are not installed and probably need a fresh up kit. I would like to get out what I have in the motor but make me an offer........ I have two oil pans for it, front and rear sump. It does not have a...

    M813 re-power underway!

Well, another turn in the road of life....... Got my hands on a 400 Cummins w/ Jakes already on it. Sent the pump to get turned up (HP and RPM) and installed a dual feed fuel line. Cleaned it up and test fired it (not on the wood blocks!). So now I have a 350 Cummins for sale with a set of Jakes.

generator to run house and well

Alright, I'll throw in my two cents.... We just finished our house last October and part of my design criteria was a fully automated monitoring and switching system to provide power to my entire property in the event of a utility outage. We have 400 amp service to our place so I chose to use...

Love the mechanicals on the A3, just can't get past that front sheetmetal. Cool truck though! Congrats!

    Virginia Steel Soldiers Rally 2009

Great! Looking foward to the event! I'm gonna try to get that 400 in my 813 before then and get it painted. Got new canopy canvas for the field kitchen too. If someone has a BIG pot maybe we can do a shrimp boil or something like that..........

    Traction: Super Singles or Duals?

I agree totally with DMgunn. BUT, the singles do perform better off road in my ACTUAL experience. The Camoplast belted farm tractors with their lower PSI will always be able to work sooner after a rain than the rubber tired machines but any farmer will tell you that the rubber tired machines...

Full hydro help needed...smart math people!

The five ton power steering pump bolts on the front of the motor in front of the injection pump. There is a four or five bolt cover there that you remove and bolt the five ton pump right in as it is driven directly off of the front gears. I did this on my Deuce and went full hydro and...

    Virginia Steel Soldiers Rally 2009

Cabell, Do you still want me to bring the field kitchen? I could set it up in the main area so anyone can see or use it for that "realistic" military experience. I suppose that I'll put off the M813-A1-X project until after the event so I can play in the mud pit! Do you have a trout stream on...

    Huge project! M-813-a1-x

M1075, I agree with you, the Cat tranny would be very cool, I just need to figure out what all the wires are for and the huge hydraulic connection on the bottom.......I also need a shifter....... I need a transfer case..... Just trying to save money by using my existing combat rims...

    Huge project! M-813-a1-x

Mike, Thanks for the kind words! I'm trying to decide if this project will be started soon and be done by the VA Rally or wait until after in case I cannot finish in time. I've gotta get the 350 Cummins sold and I suppose that I'll let the 813 chassis and axles go too, the frame is already set...

    Huge project! M-813-a1-x

Sorry, no pics yet! Been real busy with a few projects, one of which is trying to decide what to do with everything! I'll try to get some up early next week, it is supposed to rain here all weekend and the wife could have the baby at any time as her due date was last Sunday!
