Hot & Cold air simultaneously from fron A/C vents

Did that one work with the cable? I still need to replace mine with the manual cable style. someone else had tried a cheaper valve, said it didn’t work.

Hot & Cold air simultaneously from fron A/C vents

Read the posts from here on. There’s a 35$ ball valve replacement too. https://www.steelsoldiers.com/threads/a-c-diagnostic-help.220440/page-3#post-2578102

    M1167 A/C trouble shooting

Im attaching an Air Conditioning manual that I found in another thread. I have either insufficient or intermittent cooling. I suspected it was a lack of refrigerant so I started there and I added some from a little can. The gauge on it was kind of crappy but, it did show me low. I wasn't...

    M1167 A/C trouble shooting

Would a failed thermostat switch cause the delayed/ intermittent cooling I experienced?

    REV overheating - normal?

Updating on my repair to help future readers: I got the radiator out and the fan clutch swapped. After cruising on the highway in 80+ degree heat I can confirm the fan clutch was the issue. I never got over ~212 which is the fully opened temp of the thermostat as I understand it. Thank you...

    M1167 A/C trouble shooting

update on my 1165 AC It was 80+ today so I took the truck out to the store. The AC didnt work, at first. I let it blow air for a while, and cool air slowly came, and then went, came, and then went. It wasn't until on my way home that it actually started blowing cool/cold. So it was about...

    M1167 A/C trouble shooting

Compressor works, both condenser fans run. I had cold air out the front and back this morning (I think, it was 50* this am but air was coming out cold) by manually manipulating the hot water valve and closing it like this...

    M1167 A/C trouble shooting

Welp, they put in the gas this morning, again. It was blowing cold when I left, but it was only about 50 out, so take that for what it’s worth. as soon as I got in the truck, I smelled something funny. I thought maybe the tech who did the work was a chain smoker, because it smelled a little...

    A/C Diagnostic help

Just to confirm I’m doing this right - the little C shaped piece turns the valve? Forward is AC and back is heat? My truck has heat but the C lever was mid way between open and closed. The last pic is how I left it….AC?? thanks to everyone for your help

    A/C Diagnostic help

Any advice on how to "force it closed" while I wait to swap it for a manual valve? Noob question - how much coolant will leak out when I do eventually remove the valve for the manual style?

    M1167 A/C trouble shooting

Hey RWH- I took my truck to an AC shop last week. They couldnt get the compressor running, but claimed to have go the 3.8 lbs of gas in it. After they did, the rear evaporator fan did blow air. I got the compressor running by checking the packard wire connectors, someone had missed the...

Has anyone removed the cooling stack?

Well I got the radiator out and the fan clutch swapped. I’m really hoping that takes care of my issues. It didn’t come apart or go together like the TM showed. The tm shows the fan clutch bolting on from the top down, but it actually bolts from the bottom up. After doing it, I’m fairly...

Sound deadening, sound proofing - which have you done and what are your results?

With my Sound deadening in, my results are: 71 db idle. 80 "Country roads" (35-45 mph) and 86 highway. These are ranges for the most part, but thats about average. Originally I was 76 idle. 85 country roads. 90 highway. at idle and on country roads the noise is almost all engine noise...

    ON BOARD AIR?

For the cost of that, I could get two of the Ridgid units and do two tires at once. The video I posted above, did an empty truck tire to 80 PSI in 5 mins. Thats not bad. Id be going from about 20 to about 40

    ON BOARD AIR?

I never knew such things existed. there are plenty of 24v battery brands out there that would run off the truck then. I cant seem to find anything that powers the tool tho.
