My 101 didn’t come with bows or a canvas. I ended up making bows out of 3/4” conduit, and I had a guy in Denver make a custom canvas for it, which I really like how it turned out. It was a little pricey, but I only paid 475 for the trailer and figured it’s worth more than what I got into it...
I’ve got an M101a2 trailer, and I’ve used it a bit so far for family camping. Towing with my 4Runner I have realized it rides pretty rough. I do have all terrain tires on it which probably don’t help. But I guess my question is, if I were to put new shocks in the trailer, how much of an...
I picked it up on Amazon, I just searched “waterproof battery meter” and picked one that wasn’t crazy expensive and got good reviews

Thanks for the replies. So one question I have. How do you know when something is wrong? If you place your hand in the hub after you have been driving, is it ok that it is warm just not hot to the touch, or should there be no heat build up there at all?

I have been procrastinating and never got around to redoing my bearings. We finally took the trailer up for a family camping trip this weekend, about a 3 hour drive from home. We made a couple stops for fuel/ bathroom breaks, and each time I would check the hubs with my hand to see if they were...
White looks good! Your build posts on Expedition Portal are the reason I ended up buying one of these trailers in the first place!

I just used 1/2 bolts, lock washers and nuts. I know they make those purpose made little spring nuts for them but I’m a cheapskate [emoji2957]

I am pretty sure its the same stuff. I actually bought the post bases and the heavy duty corner pieces from Unistrut, but the long sections were from Home Depot and branded as Superstrut.
I built a rack from super strut so I can carry my canoe, and to run a tarp set up off the back. I found these little auto LED lights at Home Depot and paint matched them and put them in the inside. They have a auto setting where they come on when motion is detected, but also have regular on and...
Thanks, I added those pins when I took the whole thing apart to paint it. I read up about it after the fact, not to use it as a dump trailer, so I never have used it in that fashion, nor have any plans to ever dump it. I had the pins laying around and they were the same size as the rusted old...
So, probably not the most ideal way to mount a spare, but I have been racking my brain on the best way to mount my spare, without spending a bunch of money or doing a lot of modifications. I think this is going to work out but I am definitely open to feedback.
I bolted a 3" piece of thick flat...
Ok stupid question. I picked up a nice old 8 lug 16” Chevy steel wheel for a spare. It didn’t come with a valve stem. Can I just use the cheap rubber TR425 valve stems they sell at Autozone and the like? Or do these wheels require a special valve stem?

OK, so I went and picked up my trailer today from the canvas shop. Im north of Denver, and found this place in Denver that does canvas boat covers. https://www.paulscanvas.com/ Man, I am really happy with the results! big heavy YKK zippers throughout, everywhere that would see added wear...
They were on it when I bought it, they look like they came from the local hardware store. I just painted them, the shackles on the back and the lug nuts orange.
