Good post. The hostile aircraft thing was funny. Not at the time though im sure. Load banks are expensive from what I've seen. Yes from time to time ill be welding solo and will only be pulling in the neighborhood of 70-130 amps but I can set another machine up on a sacrificial metal to run here...

Did you have a link for the conversion? Have only seen references. I've been all over trying to find my options there because it looks like ill be pulling just shy of 200 amps. Or with two stick welders over 200.

Does the 006 push out more than fifty amps?

Okay, just not sure a single phase under 40kw will handle it. Considering rewiring to single, was told it's easy don't understand the voltages after though.

Think the gen is overpowered? I've heard the 30kws would be enough but the gen expert said if I'm pulling 100 amps I need at least 40kw. I know they're underrated but I don't want to overdraw. I also don't want to tax machine on a high frequency start up.
