Wish I could make it. I have to work over the next few days. I do get to do a local parade here in Tega Cay though. Should be fun. The kids really love these MV'S
Butch , Ken and the whole gang. What a friggen blast this event was. We had a wonderful time. I will do it all again for sure. I enjoyed meeting every one. And thanks for the help with Wyatt's burned fingers. Once he got into the event, I never heard any more about it, LOL. We look forward to...
Congrats on the new Rig. I live in Tega Cay, SC. About 40 minutes away. If you were in a pickle, I may be of some help. I have a friend with a tow bar in an emergency. Good luck. I have a 931 that tows real nice. already towed a bobbed deuce. Was no problem. Have fun with it!!
Anyone have an old C clip from a dryer rebuild on purge valve? Mine went wingen off into outer space. So far can not find one that fits. Thanks in advance.
Grab the end of bolt head with vise grips, and pull it out, it may take a few tugs. As per haldex insrtuctions. There was no bolt holding it in, just C clip.
Well just a follow up. Went back up to recover my 931A2. Turns out the purge valve on dryer was hung open due to chunks of foreign matter. I changed out the whole dryer from another truck, and it made air perfectly. Once home, I pulled the dryer apart to find it was a new unit installed in 09...
We were recovering 5 tons in WI. One truck would not shift into any gear. It was about 10 F. The truck sat and idled for 2 hours, When we came back to it. It shifted just fine. Seemed like some sort of valve body or something just wasn't moving after sitting so long and or the cold. Good...
Very interesting. I plan on heading back up on Tuesday to troubleshoot. I ordered a new dryer filter kit, PPV, QR-2, and governor. I hope that those parts fix it. I now have had a week to study the TM's. I made copies of all the trouble shooting pages and the diagrams. I just need some good...
I sure hope that is what it is. Does anyone know a procedure for listening or feeling around the air compressor to see if it is leaking? I know the TM. calls for a procedure to feel the exit psi line for heat, and check for psi to Governor and what not. I went on line and found a haldex...
Guys, thanks for the fast response. I do have an extra air dryer kit. I was going to bring it just in case. I do remember hearing air leaking out of the dryer. I dont remember it venting like my other truck, and spitting H2O out. When we started the truck it was over psi'ing due to PPV. once...
Ok I need to reach out to you all. I have searched for hours and have looked through the TM. I have not been able to find a specific answer. Last week I recovered a 931. It ran great and was an hour into trip when primary tank lost psi. it came back up a few times then went to zero. I knew i...
Sorry I haven't gotten back to you. I made another recovery, and actually have one truck broken down in MD. Be glad to answer questions. Just let me know. My work keeps me away sometimes for several days. But I will get back to you.
regards, Thane
One must remember, these are "magic black boxes" You never know what the heck makes them work or go haywire. I am just glad I found some leaks, pretty good ones, and at least for now CTIS works great. Tomorrow, it may not.??
Worked on mine today. During my recovery, it went from operational to pegged out while driving, then back to bouncy during idle. Pulled the wire lead off sender unit, and found it was way loose. Probably was kicked a time or two when a soldier was doing engine maintenance checks. Took a small...
