My M814 also has the thicker bed. I noticed it a few years ago, but have not had any luck finding out why.

That system utilized an electric motor actuated rack and pinion system... not hydraulic. It used a computer to designate the position of the rear tires in relation to the speed of the vehicle.

I've installed pinion brakes fed from a hydro boost system from a dodge truck. I was even able to use the emergency brake pedal from the same truck for it. In conjuction with the parking brake they slow the truck down pretty well. Am I the only 5-ton owner with four pedals?

Oh and you're also going to need to make sure your front axle boots are the solid ones and not the zipper type. After you come out of the water you need to drain out any residual water that may have made it into the drive train, and also clean and repack all the wheel bearings.

The 5-ton trucks I've seen with the fording kits all had air lines in place of the vent valves on the axles, transmission, and transfer case. I can't remember if it was taking pressure from the crankcase, or the air system, but it was putting positive air pressure in the drive train to help...

I think there needs to be a position lock in place for the rear steering if it's hydraulic in order for it to be street legal. Might want to look into that before you buy.

Use a 3D printer to make a two piece mold, mix up the silicone with some short chopped nylon fiber, and pour your new high strength boots.

What would be the trick is if they formed the silicone around some kind of high strength fabric mesh like Kevlar

After soaking I dry them off and let them sit on the shelf for another week. I've not had one squeal yet.

Before installing one of the original boots soak them in dashboard protectant for a week or so. I've had some luck doing that, and also for engine belts.

Well first take the head off your engine and see just what you've got going on there... it may be easier to fix than you think. If your engine is junk and you want to switch to something with some proven reliability then I would look into the later model 3306 Cat engines. Some of the truck...

Each battery system could be labeled as superior for their intended applications. It's been my experience that typical lead acid batteries are best for the starting systems of vehicles.
